Farah’s physiologist to present at IFAC 2013

A senior physiologist for the English Institute of Sport and UK Athletics, Dr. Barry Fudge is the latest name to join the list of speakers at the 2013 edition of the International Festival of Athletics Coaching. Dr. Fudge manages the delivery and the development of physiological services for UKA’s World Class Endurance Programme.

Fudge specialises in researching the benefits of altitude training in terms of its ability to facilitate world class performance, and it is this work that has seen him work closely with Double Olympic and Double World Champion Mo Farah. Barry Fudge has looked after Farah at every major championships since 2009, and his work has been a vital component in delivering Farah to the podium. After winning double Olympic Gold in the 5,000m and 10,000m, Farah in Moscow became the only man apart from the peerless Kenenisa Bekele to hold the Olympic and World Championship distance double simultaneously.

Dr. Barry Fudge will present two workshops during the IFAC weekend on Saturday 26 October and Sunday 27 October. To sign up for IFAC 2013 please visit ifacscotland.co.uk/book-your-place

Fresh from ‘Magic in Moscow’ at the IAAF World Championships, Harry Marra will be a keynote speaker at IFAC 2013. Coach Marra guided Decathlete Ashton Eaton to the World title and his wife, Brianne Theisen-Eaton, to the Heptathlon Silver.
