further information on programme and breakout choices at IFAC 2013

With six weeks to go to the 2013 edition of the International Festival of Athletics Coaching, we have made a couple of updates to this year’s programme. Delegates can now also sign up for each of the six breakouts on the Festival weekend.

With this year’s theme of the “winning difference: the bridge to excellence,” we will be exploring how as coaches we help athletes in their journey from promising junior to successful senior.

Our line up includes world class coaches, who are familiar with this conundrum. Harry Marra is Saturday’s keynote speaker. Marra will share his experiences of making that ‘winning difference,’ and with World Record holder, World Champion and Olympic Champion Ashton Eaton, under his guidance he will have a lot to share.

Adding to the line up of keynote speakers we have Vin Walsh, Frank Dick, Dean Benton and Boris Verkhovsky. Penny Werthner, Frans Bosch, James Moore and Barry Fudge, each world class experts in their fields, will be presenting seminars during the IFAC weekend.

For those at the beginning of their coaching career, IFAC has the Event Group coach programme, focusing on the fundamentals in each event group on technical models and drills, conditioning and planning. The sessions will be practical focused and supported by seminar and will be lead by Mick Jones (throws), Dave Sunderland (endurance), Femi Akinsanya (jumps), Lorna Boothe (hurdles), Roger Harkins (Sprints) and Vern Gambetta (conditioning and development).

We look forward to seeing you at the IFAC weekend, 25-27 October in Glasgow. You can sign up here and view the IFAC programme here.
