Athletic Performance expert Dean Benton heads to Glasgow in October

Dean Benton is one of Australia's forefront minds on the development and maintenance of high-performance athletes. Working for the Brumbies rugby team, he has transformed the team to be the fittest in Australian rugby. In just over a year, Benton has transformed the Brumbies Athletic Performance department. It was under Benton’s stewardship that saw the creation of the Brumbies Performance Canteen, the revamped recovery centre and gymnasium as well as the adjustments to the club's nutrition and recovery habits, which have all set the Brumbies on a path of success.

Benton has a strong background in track and field athletics, beginning his coaching career there. He has since worked with some of Australia's top swimmers, rugby league players and Australian Football League players. Constant study of the human body and its precise functions has led to Benton working with the Australian Institute of Sport (AIS) to develop better practices for rugby players in general.

Dean Benton is widely respected for his work with Australian athletes and will be a great addition to the 2013 line up at IFAC. His keynote in October will focus on some of his work on Athletics Performance and Development on key areas like nutrition and recovery.
